The next China Ambassador to Singapore H.E. Cao Zhongming highlighted the deep friendship and cooperation between China and Singapore and expressed commitment to further enhance bilateral ties
H.E. Cao Zhongming, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Singapore, arrived in Singapore with his wife Yang Qing on 24th March 2024. They were warmly received by officials from Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and senior diplomats from the Chinese Embassy at Changi Airport.
In his written remarks upon arrival, Ambassador Cao expressed his honour to serve as the Chinese Ambassador to Singapore, praising Singapore as a beautiful Garden City State with hardworking and talented people. He highlighted the strong historical ties between China and Singapore, noting their cultural similarities, shared philosophy, integrated interests, and complementary advantages.
Ambassador Cao mentioned the elevation of China-Singapore relations to an “All-Round High-Quality Future-Oriented Partnership” in 2023, announced by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. He emphasized the commitment to strengthen comprehensive and innovative cooperation in various fields such as trade and investment, green and digital economies, food security, and financial sector.
As the 13th Chinese Ambassador to Singapore, Ambassador Cao pledged to work with friends from all walks of life in Singapore to enhance the quality of China-Singapore cooperation.
