The Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Brigadier General (BG) Haji Mohammad Shanonnizam bin Sulaiman, made a significant introductory visit to Singapore from April 22 to 24, 2024. During his stay, BG Shanonnizam met with Singapore’s Minister for Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen, to reinforce the longstanding defence relations between the two nations and explore avenues for deeper cooperation.

The visit included a ceremonial inspection of the Guard of Honour at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), where BG Shanonnizam also met with other key Singaporean defence leaders, including Vice Admiral Aaron Beng, Chief of Defence Force, and Major-General David Neo, Chief of Army. The discussions centered on strengthening military ties and enhancing joint training and operational capabilities between the Singapore Army and the RBLF.

A highlight of BG Shanonnizam’s visit was his tour of the Motorised Infantry Training Institute at Kranji Camp III. There, he was briefed on the Singapore Army’s motorization efforts and experienced a ride in the Terrex armoured vehicle. He also reviewed the Belrex Protected Combat Support Vehicle and a range of the Army’s drones, gaining insights into Singapore’s advanced military technologies.
