Singapore’s Minister for Defence, Dr. Ng Eng Hen, visited Jordan on May 19, 2024, to strengthen bilateral defense relations and discuss regional security issues.
On May 19, 2024, Singapore’s Minister for Defence, Dr. Ng Eng Hen, made a working visit to Jordan. During his visit, Dr. Ng engaged in several high-level meetings, including an audience with His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein. He also met with Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Dr. Bisher Al Khasawneh and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi.
Dr. Ng visited the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) Headquarters, where he was received with a Guard of Honour and hosted by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Al-Huneiti.
In these meetings, Dr. Ng expressed gratitude to Jordan for its support in facilitating the Singapore Armed Forces’ (SAF) recent humanitarian aid airdrop operations, which delivered over 20 tonnes of food supplies into Gaza. The discussions also covered the broader security situation in the region.
Dr. Ng’s visit highlights the warm and friendly defense relationship between Singapore and Jordan, characterized by regular professional exchanges between their armed forces.
