Banpu NEXT’s Strategy Manager met with Thailand’s Ambassador to Singapore to discuss the company’s clean energy initiatives and investments in Singapore
On June 24, 2024, Mr. Taechat Apichit, Manager of Strategy and Investment at Banpu NEXT Co., Ltd., paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, the Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore. During the meeting, Mr. Apichit introduced Banpu NEXT’s business operations in Thailand and highlighted its investments in Singapore. Banpu NEXT Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Banpu Group, operates within the clean energy technology sector, focusing on green energy across Thailand and the Asia Pacific. The company has invested in several startups in Singapore, including those involved in EV batteries, E-bikes, and battery recycling.
The discussion also covered Singapore’s policies in a global context. Ambassador Ureerat shared her insights on global trends, particularly in the digital economy and sustainability, and how these trends influence Singapore’s national policies. She emphasised Singapore’s focus on energy security to advance green energy, food security to reduce carbon emissions, and workforce upskilling and reskilling to meet future market demands. Additionally, she discussed the importance of digital economy development, urban heat mitigation for a sustainable environment, and resilience amidst geopolitical challenges.
Both parties recognized the importance of aligning business strategies with global trends and national policies to drive sustainable growth. The meeting underscored the shared commitment of Banpu NEXT and the Thai government to contribute to green energy development and sustainability efforts in the region.
