A grand reception hosted by the Thai Ambassador in Singapore marks Thailand’s National Day, celebrating cultural ties and diplomatic milestones.

On December 3, 2024, H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, hosted a reception to mark the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Thailand’s National Day and Father’s Day. The event was presided over by Dr. Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry, as the Guest of Honour, along with Members of Parliament, Mr. Christopher de Souza and Ms. Yeo Wan Ling, as representatives of the Singapore government.

The celebration featured an exhibition honoring His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, Thai traditional dance performances, cooking demonstrations, Thai food booths from selected Thai restaurants in Singapore, and beverages from leading Thai brands to showcase Thailand’s cultural identity and culture.

On this occasion, the Ambassador and the Minister emphasized the strong bilateral relations between Thailand and Singapore, which have flourished for nearly 60 years. Key milestones in 2024 included the 14th Thailand-Singapore Civil Service Exchange Programme (CSEP) held in Bangkok and the Official Visit to Thailand by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong last week. Another significant area is people-to-people ties that remain robust, supported by ongoing cultural exchanges and activities organised by the Royal Thai Embassy, in collaboration with the Thai community and Singapore’s public and private agencies.
