RSAF supports the Australian Defence Force in humanitarian assistance operations

In a demonstration of strong bilateral ties, the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) has deployed two CH-47F Chinook helicopters to assist in flood relief operations in Australia. The helicopters were dispatched from the Oakey Detachment at the Australian Army Aviation Training Centre in Queensland on 4 February 2025.

Working in coordination with the Australian Defence Force (ADF), the RSAF helicopters will play a crucial role in transporting personnel and delivering emergency supplies to communities in northern Queensland affected by severe flooding. The humanitarian assistance mission underscores the enduring defence relationship between Australia and Singapore, which is built on regular military exercises, professional exchanges, and Australia’s long-standing support for the Singapore Armed Forces’ (SAF) training in the country.

The Ministry of Defence and the Singapore Armed Forces have reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the ADF in its flood relief efforts, highlighting the shared commitment of both nations to regional stability and humanitarian assistance.
