MEXICO CITY, Mexico — In a significant move to amplify Mexico’s economic diplomacy, the Mexican Association of State International Affairs Offices (AMAIE), led by Paloma Palacios, and the Mexican Association of Secretaries of Economic Development (AMSDE), chaired by Marco Antonio del Prete, have formalised a strategic agreement. This collaboration aims to fortify inter-state cooperation, unlocking new avenues for investment and trade through engagement with the diplomatic corps accredited in Mexico.

The accord underscores Mexico’s commitment to positioning itself as a prime destination for international investment and foreign trade. By enhancing economic diplomacy, the nation seeks to promote regional development and attract substantial investment.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs played a pivotal role in this initiative, with the General Directorate of Political Coordination facilitating dialogue among key stakeholders and serving as the primary liaison with local governments.

The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of ambassadors, diplomatic representatives, officials from the Ministry of Economy, and heads of International Affairs offices and Secretaries of Economic Development. This diverse attendance highlighted the broad-based support for the agreement.

The partnership aims to connect state governments with a network of economic attachés, fostering new opportunities for trade, investment, and the exchange of best practices. This initiative is poised to strengthen Mexico’s integration into global markets.
