Championing gender diversity, the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) held an insightful event on 7 March, featuring influential women leaders and key diplomatic figures advocating for gender equality in leadership.

SINGAPORE, 7 March 2025 – In anticipation of International Women’s Day on 8 March, the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) hosted an engaging event to highlight the role of women in leadership within the manufacturing sector. The event featured the Women in Manufacturing Committee, including Phyllis Ong, Shih Yin Poh, Katherine Ueltschi, Pearl Yu, and Ellen Teo, who shared their experiences and perspectives. The event opened with a keynote address by H.E. Ureerat Chareontoh, Thai Ambassador to Singapore, who provided insights into advancing gender equality in leadership. This was followed by an enriching panel discussion with Iwona Piórko, EU Ambassador to Singapore, who discussed the challenges and opportunities for women in leadership.

SMF reaffirmed its commitment to fostering gender diversity through initiatives like Women in Manufacturing, which focus on leadership development, mentorship, and industry opportunities to empower women. As the industry moves forward, SMF continues to break barriers and build a future where women in manufacturing lead with confidence.
