
Dr. Kao Kim Hourn attends discussions on ASEAN’s future roadmap, strengthening regional integration and connectivity.
Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, attended an interface session between the High-Level Task Force on the ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision (HLTF-ACV) and key ASEAN sectoral bodies during the 22nd Meeting of the HLTF-ACV, co-chaired by Malaysia and the Philippines.
The session brought together representatives from various ASEAN pillars, including the Chair of the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Economic Integration (HLTF-EI), Co-Chairs of the Ad-Hoc Working Group to Develop the ASCC Post-2025 Strategic Plan (ASCC AHWG), and the Chair of the ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee (ACCC). The discussions aimed to align priorities and strategies across ASEAN’s economic, socio-cultural, and connectivity frameworks, ensuring a cohesive and forward-looking vision beyond 2025.
The HLTF-ACV plays a crucial role in shaping ASEAN’s long-term direction, focusing on regional cooperation, economic integration, sustainability, and institutional strengthening. The engagement allowed key stakeholders to explore policy coordination, strategic frameworks, and governance mechanisms that will guide ASEAN’s evolution in the coming decades.
By fostering deeper collaboration among its various pillars, ASEAN aims to build a stronger, more resilient, and inclusive community beyond 2025. The Penang meeting reinforced the region’s commitment to unity, connectivity, and sustainable growth, ensuring that ASEAN remains adaptable to global challenges while advancing its collective goals.
