
India’s Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Singapore’s Dr Amy Khor jointly inaugurated the India Pavilion, showcasing India’s vision for a sustainable and innovative maritime sector
India’s Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, and Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Transport and Sustainability, Dr Amy Khor, jointly inaugurated the India Pavilion at Singapore Maritime Week 2025. The pavilion highlights India’s commitment to a sustainable, innovative, and globally connected maritime sector.
The event, held at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre from 25th to 27th March 2025, marks 60 years of maritime cooperation between India and Singapore. The India Pavilion serves as a platform to showcase key initiatives, including shipbuilding clusters, the Cruise Bharat Mission, the Maritime Development Fund, green shipping solutions, and port development under public-private partnerships (PPP).
Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Sonowal emphasised the importance of bilateral collaboration in maritime trade, innovation, and sustainability. Dr Khor also reaffirmed Singapore’s commitment to strengthening maritime ties with India, fostering knowledge exchange and investment opportunities.
With India and Singapore playing pivotal roles in global maritime trade, the India Pavilion serves as a hub for industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore opportunities in port development, shipping technology, and sustainable maritime initiatives.
