Marina Bay and its environs set to glow with sustainable art installations celebrating unity and SG60.
Asia’s premier sustainable light art festival, i Light Singapore, returns from 29 May to 21 June 2025. Organised by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and presented by UOB, the festival will illuminate Marina Bay and extend its reach to South Beach, the Singapore River, and Raffles Place for the first time.
This year’s theme, To Gather, draws inspiration from the colour red: symbolising passion, vitality, and collective strength. The festival features 17 new light art installations by 20 artists, aiming to foster community connections and spark conversations on sustainability.
Highlights include “Take a walk through the meadow with me” by Singaporean artists Megan Tan and Tan Shao Xuan. Located near the NTUC Building, this installation showcases 300 illuminated flowers crafted from recycled acrylic, responding to visitors’ movements with light and sound.
Another notable installation is “Bridge of 1,000 Dreams” by Studio Toer, transforming the Cavenagh Bridge into a luminous pathway reflecting collective aspirations.
Complementing the visual displays, the GastroBeats programme returns with interactive zones, live music, and culinary experiences. This year’s edition introduces “Let’s Trouble The Water!”, an initiative featuring characters like Captain Skull and One Eye, aiming to raise awareness about marine pollution.
Festival hours are from 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM daily, with extended hours until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Admission is free, though certain programmes may have associated charges.
