RIYADH, Saudi Arabia— The second week of the 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC) in Riyadh has concluded, marking significant achievements and crowning four new champions. The tournament, held from 8 July to 24 August, saw top teams from around the globe deliver exceptional performances. The event is a key part of Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic and economic initiatives, fostering international cooperation through sport.

Gen.G Esports secured the coveted League of Legends title with a 3-2 victory over China’s AG.AL. The win extended Gen.G’s impressive series unbeaten streak to 26 matches. Meanwhile, in the Dota 2 tournament, Russian powerhouse Team Spirit dominated their competition, defeating Team Falcons 3-0 in a near-perfect run.

Team Vitality, representing Indonesia, achieved a flawless victory in the Women’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament. They secured a 4-0 win against Gaimin Gladiators, setting a new record for the fastest match in tournament history. The Indonesian team EVOS Esports also claimed victory in the Free Fire championship, showcasing consistent performance to win three maps on the final day.

The Esports World Cup Foundation, the organiser of the event, has highlighted the tournament’s role in promoting Riyadh as a global hub for sports tourism and entertainment. The event featured a total prize pool of over $70 million, the largest in esports history, attracting top talent and audiences worldwide. This year’s competition is a testament to the kingdom’s growing influence in the global esports industry.
