Students gain first-hand insights into Thailand’s diplomatic work and regional cooperation efforts.

Mrs Chonlatee Chanrachakul, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), welcomed a group of 19 students and teachers from the School of Science and Technology, Methodist Girls’ School, and CHIJ Secondary School to the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore, on 17 July 2025. The visit aimed to provide the students with a deeper understanding of the Embassy’s roles and responsibilities, as well as Thailand’s policy and contributions towards promoting ASEAN cooperation and unity.

As the Ambassador’s representative, DCM Chonlatee gave a brief overview of the Embassy’s organisational structure and its “Team Thailand” network, explaining the core diplomatic missions undertaken by a Thai Embassy abroad. The session also included an engaging discussion on the longstanding relations between Thailand and Singapore, and Thailand’s active role in strengthening ASEAN cooperation and cohesion.

The study visit offered the students and teachers valuable opportunities to exchange ideas and deepen their awareness of diplomacy and regional affairs, highlighting the importance of youth engagement in ASEAN’s future.
