
Dr Kao Kim Hourn and Dr Vivian Balakrishnan discuss regional priorities and ASEAN’s future during a meeting in Singapore
SINGAPORE — The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore, H.E. Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, today hosted a lunch meeting in Singapore for the Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr Kao Kim Hourn.
The two leaders held a productive exchange on key regional developments and ongoing efforts to strengthen ASEAN community building. The discussions also covered follow-up actions from the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) and related meetings, which took place last month in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Dr Kao and Dr Balakrishnan reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing ASEAN’s strategic objectives, including the long-term vision under ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future.
The meeting underscored the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation among ASEAN Member States to promote regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
