H.E. San Lwin, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC), attended the 36th ASEAN Multi-Sectoral Technical Assistance Body (AMTB) Meeting and Strategic Planning Workshop held on 1–2 September 2025 in Manila, Philippines.

The discussions centred on exchanges between the ASEAN Secretariat and relevant Philippine line agencies, particularly on preparations for the Philippines’ upcoming ASEAN Chairship in 2026. Deliberations highlighted the country’s indicative priorities under the ASCC pillar, reflecting its commitment to advancing regional cooperation in socio-cultural matters.

During the meeting, the ASEAN Secretariat provided an overview of the work undertaken by the Sectoral Bodies under the ASCC pillar, reaffirming its role in supporting the Philippines in fulfilling its Chairship responsibilities.

The two-day engagement reinforced ASEAN’s collaborative approach in ensuring continuity and alignment of its initiatives, as the region prepares for another milestone in its rotating leadership.
