The Republic of Singapore Air Force strengthened defence cooperation with Australia through high-tempo heli-borne missions at Exercise Wallaby 2025 in Shoalwater Bay.
AUSTRALIA, 27 October 2025 – The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) carried out a series of high-tempo underslung and troop lift missions as part of Exercise Wallaby 2025 at the Shoalwater Bay Training Area in Queensland, Australia. The exercise demonstrated the close cooperation and interoperability between the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
During the training, the RSAF’s 101 Squadron (Air Terminal Squadron) executed complex heli-borne operations, including sling-loading vehicles and transporting equipment across expansive terrain. These missions enabled seamless coordination between RSAF helicopters and Singapore Army ground units, simulating real-world deployment conditions.

The exercise underscored not only the strength and precision of RSAF’s airlift capabilities but also the emphasis placed on maintaining safety within landing zones during high-intensity missions. The operations allowed participating units to refine their joint planning, communication, and execution skills in dynamic environments.
Exercise Wallaby, held annually at Shoalwater Bay since 1990, remains the Singapore Armed Forces’ largest overseas training exercise. It serves as a cornerstone of the longstanding defence partnership between Singapore and Australia, providing valuable opportunities for both forces to train together and enhance operational readiness.
