On 22 October 2025, Singapore hosted H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, for a business lunch with leading representatives from Singapore’s private sector. The meeting, held during Minister Sihasak’s official visit to Singapore on 21–22 October, focused on strengthening economic connectivity and identifying new investment opportunities.

During the discussions, Singaporean business leaders highlighted the longstanding economic partnership between the two countries, noting that Singapore had been Thailand’s largest foreign investor for two consecutive years. Both sides explored ways to develop emerging sectors, including digital industries, clean energy, and high-tech innovation, while sustaining positive investment momentum.

The meeting also examined support for Thai SMEs through regional digital platforms to enhance market access, as well as collaboration in high-growth industries such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), data centres, e-commerce, and clean energy. Participants exchanged perspectives on strategies to strengthen economic resilience and promote balanced long-term growth in the region.

Representatives from Singapore’s private sector included Temasek International, Sea Ltd., SingTel, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, GenZero, Keppel, SATS Ltd., SP Group, UOB Group, UOB Thailand, DayOne, Shopee (SEA Group), Grab, and TikTok. The engagement provided a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and the identification of new avenues for bilateral economic cooperation.
