Venezuela made its debut at Singapore Coffee Week 2025, showcasing nine premium Arabica varieties from the Mucucay Estate and marking a milestone for the nation’s coffee industry in Southeast Asia.
SINGAPORE, October 2025 – Venezuela participated in Singapore Coffee Week, taking its place in the Origin Village with specialty coffee. Nine varieties of Arabica coffee, sourced from the Mucucay Estate in Mérida state, with specialty coffee crops grown at over 2,000 meters above sea level, were presented in the specialty and origin spaces of the event organised by the Singapore Coffee Association (SCA). This annual event brought together producers, as well as all those involved in the fundamental supply chain of the coffee industry, including baristas and manufacturers.

Venezuelan coffee delighted the audience not only with its specialty qualities and the varieties presented, but also because it marked its debut at Southeast Asia’s most prestigious event, following its participation in the 2021 specialty coffee auction held by the Singapore Coffee Association. The inauguration held to celebrate coffee was attended by the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Singapore, Mr. Seah Kian Peng, who visited the exhibitors and especially the Origin Village to greet international visitors and sample the coffees, particularly those from Latin America and Venezuela.
Ambassador Jessica López had the opportunity to meet with the organizers at the Venezuela Village and express her gratitude for the collaboration between the Singapore Coffee Association, the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Trade and Country Brand, and Mr. Darveris Rivas, representative of Cafe y Ciencia (Coffee and Science), whose work paves the way for Venezuelan coffee growers and, with them, the promising Venezuelan coffee industry, which is being reborn with unique aromas and notes, and with the highest technical standards of production, diverse processes, and harvesting.

During Coffee Week, business meetings were promoted with commercial representatives from the Asian region operating in the Singapore hub, as well as private tastings of specialty coffees and Venezuelan cocoa, which had a significant influx and reception from the gastronomic industry in Singapore.
