The High Commission of India in Singapore warmly welcomed INS Karmuk as it arrived in Singapore for the fifth edition of the Singapore-India-Thailand Maritime Exercise (SITMEX-2025), taking place from 23 to 29 November 2025. The Indian Navy’s indigenously built Kora-class corvette will participate alongside the Republic of Singapore Navy and the Royal Thai Navy in a series of coordinated maritime drills designed to deepen regional cooperation.

INS Karmuk’s arrival marks another milestone in the growing trilateral partnership among the three nations, reaffirming their shared commitment to maintaining peace, stability and security in the Indo-Pacific. The exercise, now in its fifth edition, continues to focus on enhancing interoperability through professional exchanges, tactical manoeuvres and joint operational tasks at sea.
During the visit, Commodore Nitesh Garg, Naval Component Commander of the Andaman and Nicobar Command, and the Commanding Officer of INS Karmuk called on the High Commissioner of India in Singapore. They provided a detailed briefing on the ship’s participation in SITMEX-2025 and outlined the objectives for the multilateral engagement. The meeting underscored the importance of sustained naval cooperation and regular interactions between partner nations.

Throughout the week-long deployment, INS Karmuk and participating naval units will take part in maritime exercises aimed at strengthening coordination, enhancing maritime domain awareness and building collective readiness. Such interactions not only refine operational capabilities but also reinforce trust and mutual understanding among the three navies.
The High Commission extended its best wishes to the navies of India, Singapore and Thailand for a successful exercise, highlighting SITMEX-2025 as a testament to regional collaboration and a shared vision for a secure maritime environment.
