Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Culture, Community and Youth, Ms Low Yen Ling, delivered a speech at UNLOCKED26 by Igloo, marking the company’s 10th anniversary.

Speaking to industry leaders, partners and guests, Ms Low congratulated Igloo on its transformation from a smart-lock startup into a global access solutions platform. She noted that over the past decade, Igloo has grown to serve about 5,000 companies worldwide, enabling more than one billion unlocks each year and supporting 25 million digital credentials across over half a million access points.

Ms Low highlighted that Igloo began as a startup at Singapore’s JTC LaunchPad and scaled internationally with support from Enterprise Singapore. Today, the company operates dual headquarters in Texas and Singapore, with its core research and development base anchored in Singapore. She commended the Singaporean founders for building a company that is global in reach while remaining local at heart.

Addressing the wider property technology sector, Ms Low said the industry must balance convenience and security while working with many stakeholders. She praised Igloo for developing solutions that work across different property types, function in low-connectivity environments, automate digital key distribution, and integrate smoothly with existing property management systems.

Ms Low also shared that Singapore’s digital economy grew to more than S$128 billion in 2024, accounting for about 19% of the country’s GDP. She said businesses like Igloo show how digital platforms can support new services and workflows without the need to overhaul physical infrastructure.

She concluded by congratulating Igloo on its tenth anniversary and encouraged the company to continue expanding into new markets, while wishing all participants at UNLOCKED26 a productive conference.
