Regional governors review security, stability and development measures under Saudi leadership directives
The Minister of Interior of Saudi Arabia, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, chaired the 33rd annual meeting of the Governors of Regions via videoconference. The meeting focused on preserving security, facilitating services for citizens and residents, and advancing development objectives in line with national priorities.
At the outset, the Interior Minister conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He reaffirmed the leadership’s directives to maintain security and stability across the Kingdom while ensuring the facilitation of services for citizens, residents, and visitors.

During the session, the Minister and regional governors reviewed measures aimed at reinforcing security and addressing ongoing regional developments. Participants discussed efforts to mobilise available resources to safeguard individuals within the Kingdom and to provide support to stranded Gulf nationals from GCC member states at airports both within and beyond Saudi Arabia.
The meeting also examined reports and working papers related to advancing development initiatives and enhancing quality of life, consistent with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. Discussions included strategies to strengthen governance coordination at the regional level and to improve service delivery frameworks.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants agreed on a number of recommendations to be submitted to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for further consideration. The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to continuing coordination with regional authorities to support national security and development goals.
