The Singapore Manufacturing Federation welcomed Mexican diplomatic and business leaders following its business mission to Mexico last December to discuss stronger economic collaboration.

The Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) hosted H.E. Agustin García-López Loaeza, Ambassador of Mexico to Singapore, together with several Mexican and international business leaders at the Embassy of Mexico in Singapore.

Those present included Stephane M., Chairman (Asia & Oceania) of the Mexican Council for Foreign Trade (COMCE), Ivonne Montiel, CEO of Sam’s Club Mexico, Gerson Garduño, CEO of the Singapore–Mexico Chamber of Commerce, and Mario Calderon.

The meeting followed SMF’s business mission to Mexico in December last year. It reflected the growing interest from both Singapore and Mexico to deepen economic collaboration and strengthen connections between companies.

During the discussion, participants explored ways to further encourage bilateral business flows, strengthen partnerships between businesses, and create more opportunities for companies from both countries to learn from one another.

Mexico was highlighted as not only an economic powerhouse but also a strategic gateway that extends beyond Latin America.

SMF President Lennon Tan also highlighted how Singapore continues to invest in human capital. He noted that this investment is a key factor supporting the competitiveness and sustained growth of Singapore’s manufacturing sector.

Both sides expressed optimism about future cooperation and looked forward to building on the momentum to unlock more opportunities between Singapore and Mexico.
