The ASEAN Secretariat concluded a four-day workshop on “2026 Workplace Communications: Effective Writing Skills”, held from 30 March to 2 April 2026. The programme was conducted to strengthen professional writing capabilities among staff to support their roles within the organisation.

The workshop was facilitated by the Civil Service College Singapore under the Enhanced Technical Assistance Programme (ETAP), implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Singapore. The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance institutional capacity within ASEAN.

The closing session was attended by Gerard Ho, Permanent Representative of Singapore to ASEAN, and Nararya S Soeprapto, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Community and Corporate Affairs. Both officials underscored the importance of effective communication skills in supporting ASEAN’s work and institutional effectiveness.

The training programme focused on enhancing clarity, structure, and professionalism in written communication, equipping participants with practical tools applicable to policy drafting and official correspondence.

The workshop reflects continued collaboration between ASEAN and Singapore in capacity-building initiatives, contributing to a more effective and responsive ASEAN Secretariat.
