The Philippine Embassy in Singapore reported strong participation in its “Special Overseas Voter (OV) Priority Lane for Women,” conducted in March 2026 in partnership with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC). The initiative formed part of the observance of National Women’s Month and aimed to facilitate voter registration among Filipinas in Singapore.

Throughout March, the Embassy recorded a total of 680 overseas voter applicants, of which 580, or 85%, were women. The dedicated priority lane operated from 6 to 31 March 2026 during regular office hours, providing accessible services for women registering as overseas voters ahead of the 2028 Philippine elections.

The programme was implemented as part of the Embassy’s ongoing efforts to promote electoral participation and ensure inclusive access to voter registration services for Filipinos residing abroad. It also highlighted the active engagement of Filipino women in civic processes.

The Embassy confirmed that overseas voter registration will remain open until 30 September 2027. Filipino nationals in Singapore are encouraged to register or update their records by scheduling an appointment and preparing the required documentation, including a valid Philippine passport or other supporting documents as applicable.

The initiative underscores continued efforts to strengthen democratic participation among overseas Filipinos and support inclusive access to electoral services.
