Diplomatic community gathers to honour two departing envoys and celebrate their contributions to strengthening bilateral ties with Singapore.
The Office of the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Singapore hosted a Diplomatic Farewell Lunch Reception on 22 April 2026 at the Swiss Club Singapore.
The event honoured the Ambassador of Switzerland to Singapore, H.E. Frank Grütter, and the Ambassador of the Peru, H.E. Francisco Tenya Hasegawa, recognising their service and contributions during their diplomatic postings in Singapore.
In remarks delivered during the luncheon, members of the diplomatic community reflected on the ambassadors’ efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation, promote economic and cultural exchanges, and deepen engagement between their respective countries and Singapore.
Ambassador Grütter was acknowledged for advancing Switzerland–Singapore cooperation across areas such as trade, education, and innovation, as well as supporting the Swiss business community and cultural initiatives during his tenure.
Ambassador Tenya Hasegawa was also commended for his role in enhancing Peru–Singapore relations, including fostering trade and investment collaboration and promoting Peru’s cultural heritage in Singapore through exhibitions and culinary diplomacy.
The farewell reception highlighted the collegiality and strong bonds within Singapore’s diplomatic community, while expressing appreciation for the ambassadors’ contributions and wishing them success in their future assignments.
