The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Singapore marked May 2026 with a series of diplomatic meetings, technology engagements, and support initiatives for Singaporean Hajj pilgrims.

The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Singapore shared a recap of its key activities and engagements during May 2026, highlighting diplomatic cooperation, regional dialogue, technology partnerships, and Hajj support initiatives.

His Excellency Mohammad Alghamdi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Singapore, met with Dr. Clemens Chay, Senior Fellow for Geopolitics at the Observer Research Foundation – Middle East. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on Saudi-Singapore relations and regional and international developments of mutual interest.

The discussions also focused on the latest regional developments and emphasized the importance of supporting efforts to protect maritime corridors and maintain their stability in order to strengthen regional and international peace and security.

In another high-level engagement, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, received Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore, in Jeddah. The meeting reviewed bilateral relations and explored ways to enhance cooperation across various sectors, while also discussing regional developments and maritime security.

The Embassy also promoted multilingual digital awareness guides to support pilgrims during the Hajj season under the #Hajj1447H initiative.

His Excellency Mohammad Alghamdi also joined the farewell ceremony for Singapore’s Hajj pilgrims departing for the Kingdom via Changi Airport. The ceremony was attended by Dr Mohammad Faishal Ibrahim, Minister-in-Charge of Muslim Affairs of Singapore and Head of the Singapore Hajj Mission, and Mohamed Sa’at Abdul Rahman, President of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS). Ambassador Alghamdi wished the pilgrims a smooth spiritual journey and an accepted Hajj.

In the technology sector, His Excellency Mohammad Alghamdi met with Mr Chris McCuin during GITEX Asia 2026. Discussions focused on cooperation in technology, innovation, and artificial intelligence, as well as opportunities to strengthen communication between Saudi entities and exhibition organizers.

The Embassy also encouraged international students to apply through the official “Study in Saudi Arabia” platform, which offers access to university programs, scholarships, and educational visa pathways in the Kingdom.
