The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Singapore received a courtesy visit from Committee III of the Regional Representative Council of Indonesia (DPD RI) as part of its oversight function on the implementation of Law No. 18 of 2017 concerning the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers. The meeting provided an opportunity for discussions on the condition of Indonesian migrant workers in Singapore, challenges related to their protection, and measures undertaken by the Embassy to support Indonesian citizens and migrant workers.

The visit formed part of Committee III’s official oversight activities aimed at assessing the implementation of national legislation concerning migrant worker protection. The meeting was attended by representatives of Committee III and officials of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, who exchanged views on existing protection mechanisms, service delivery, and emerging issues affecting Indonesian migrant workers in the host country.

Discussions focused on the implementation of migrant worker protection policies and the role of the Embassy in providing assistance to Indonesian nationals. Embassy officials outlined various services and protection measures available to Indonesian citizens and migrant workers, including consular assistance, welfare support, and case management mechanisms.

The meeting also addressed challenges encountered in safeguarding the rights and welfare of migrant workers in Singapore. Participants exchanged perspectives on strengthening coordination among relevant institutions and enhancing the effectiveness of protection frameworks through closer collaboration between national and overseas stakeholders.
