The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), in coordination with the Migrant Workers Office (MWO)-Singapore, successfully conducted the 2026 Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) in Singapore from 29 to 31 May 2026. The examination provided overseas Filipino professionals with the opportunity to obtain or renew professional licensure credentials while residing and working abroad.

The three-day examination formed part of the PRC’s overseas licensure programme and was conducted simultaneously in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The initiative aimed to make professional certification more accessible to Filipino workers overseas while supporting their continued professional development and career advancement.

A total of 163 examinees participated in the Singapore examination across 17 professions. These included architecture, certified plant mechanics, chemical engineering, civil engineering, electronics engineering, electronics technology, plumbing, mechanical engineering, midwifery, nursing, elementary and secondary education, psychometrics, radiologic technology, real estate appraisal, electrical engineering, master electrical work, and veterinary medicine.

The Philippine Embassy in Singapore, through the Migrant Workers Office, supported the conduct of the examinations and coordinated with relevant stakeholders to facilitate the process. The Embassy expressed its appreciation to members of the Filipino community who volunteered their assistance and to HFSE International School for serving as the venue for this year’s examination.

Ahead of the SPLE, Philippine Ambassador H.E. Medardo G. Macaraig received a courtesy call from the PRC delegation on 25 May 2026. The delegation was led by Director Angiereen D. Medina, and discussions highlighted the importance of providing accessible professional licensure opportunities for overseas Filipinos.
