
During an official visit to Singapore, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held discussions with Singapore leaders, institutions, investors, and innovation stakeholders to advance cooperation in technology, education, infrastructure, and economic development
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a series of high-level engagements in Singapore aimed at strengthening cooperation in investment, technology, innovation, education, infrastructure, and sustainable development. The meetings formed part of his official visit to Singapore and brought together government leaders, academic institutions, venture capital stakeholders, and business representatives to explore new avenues for collaboration between Singapore and Andhra Pradesh.

During his visit, Mr. Naidu met India’s High Commissioner to Singapore, Dr. Shilpak Ambule, to discuss opportunities for deepening Singapore’s partnership with Andhra Pradesh across a range of sectors. Their discussions covered investment, advanced manufacturing, robotics, medical devices, education, technology, and innovation. Mr. Naidu also highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s progress in natural farming, agricultural and horticultural exports, aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), and shipbuilding.

As part of his outreach to the innovation ecosystem, the Chief Minister interacted with startup founders and venture capital investors in Singapore. The discussions focused on the role of venture capital in supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and the development of future industries. Mr. Naidu outlined Andhra Pradesh’s initiatives to foster entrepreneurship, including the One Family One Entrepreneur programme and the establishment of the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub. He invited investors and innovators to partner with the state and contribute to its innovation-led growth agenda.

Mr. Naidu also met Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to discuss opportunities for expanding cooperation between Singapore and Andhra Pradesh. The discussions focused on semiconductors, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, research and development, university partnerships, urban governance, leadership development, logistics, and advanced manufacturing. The Chief Minister shared updates on the development of Amaravati as a globally benchmarked capital city featuring modern infrastructure and knowledge-based institutions.
The leaders also exchanged views on collaboration in natural farming, aquaculture, food exports, healthcare, clean energy, green hydrogen, and green ammonia. Mr. Naidu invited Singapore’s government-linked companies and industry leaders to participate in Amaravati’s development and explore investment opportunities across the state.

In a separate meeting, Mr. Naidu met Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan. Their discussions focused on strengthening connectivity and economic linkages between Singapore and Andhra Pradesh. Topics included air services, airport development, enhanced air connectivity, digital infrastructure, undersea internet connectivity, data centre ecosystems, and opportunities in the commercial space sector. Mr. Naidu outlined Andhra Pradesh’s vision of building a future-ready economy supported by innovation, connectivity, and international partnerships.

The Chief Minister also met Professor Tan Eng Chye, President of the National University of Singapore (NUS), to explore cooperation in higher education, research, innovation, and public policy. The discussions included opportunities for NUS to establish a presence in Amaravati and contribute to the city’s development as a global knowledge and innovation hub. Both sides also discussed potential collaboration within the Amaravati Quantum Valley initiative, including research partnerships, talent development programmes, and the establishment of a world-class Centre of Excellence.
