The Indian Navy, the Republic of Singapore Navy, and the Republic of Singapore Air Force conducted a Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) on Maritime Patrol Aircraft Operations during the visit of an Indian Navy P-8I aircraft to Paya Lebar Air Base in Singapore. The exchange served to strengthen professional cooperation, enhance operational understanding, and reinforce the longstanding defence partnership between India and Singapore.

The engagement took place as part of the Indian Navy P-8I’s visit to Singapore and brought together personnel from the three services to discuss key aspects of maritime patrol aircraft operations. Hosted at Paya Lebar Air Base, the programme provided a platform for defence professionals to exchange expertise, share operational experiences, and deepen bilateral cooperation in the maritime domain.

During the SMEE, participants held detailed discussions on maritime surveillance capabilities, operational procedures, training methodologies, and best practices in maritime patrol operations. The exchanges reflected the shared commitment of both countries to maintaining high professional standards and strengthening interoperability between their armed forces.
The programme also underscored the importance of sustained defence engagement between India and Singapore in promoting regional maritime security and enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Through regular professional exchanges and capacity-building initiatives, both countries continued to expand opportunities for collaboration across the defence sector.
