Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Singapore, Askar Kuttykadam, met with Harry Goh, Director-General of the ASEAN Directorate for Singapore within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to discuss Kazakhstan’s engagement with ASEAN and prospects for future cooperation. The meeting also covered collaboration between ASEAN and other regional frameworks involving Kazakhstan.

During the discussions, Ambassador Kuttykadam expressed appreciation for Singapore’s support for Kazakhstan’s accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), also known as the Bali Treaty. According to the Embassy of Kazakhstan, closer cooperation is expected to enhance trade, economic and investment relations between Kazakhstan and ASEAN while supporting the further development of institutional ties.

The two sides also exchanged views on Singapore’s upcoming ASEAN Chairmanship in 2027. Discussions addressed opportunities to strengthen cooperation between Central Asia and ASEAN, as well as between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and ASEAN, including digitalisation, artificial intelligence, transport connectivity, and food security.
