Australia continues to deepen its engagement with Southeast Asia by supporting the region’s growing infrastructure needs through strategic investment partnerships. As part of this commitment, Australian High Commissioner to Singapore, H.E. Robyn Mudie, met with Plenary Group Chief Executive Officer Paul Crowe and Plenary Asia Chief Executive Officer Chi-Ling Looi to discuss the company’s priorities and long-term plans in Southeast Asia.

The meeting underscored Australia’s commitment to fostering sustainable infrastructure development across the region. Plenary, a leading developer and investor in public infrastructure, is expanding its presence in Southeast Asia through initiatives designed to deliver high-quality, nation-building projects while strengthening public-private partnerships.

Supporting these efforts, Export Finance Australia has committed USD50 million to establish Plenary’s Southeast Asia public-private partnership infrastructure fund. The investment platform aims to finance essential public infrastructure projects while creating greater financing opportunities to support the region’s continued economic growth and development.

The initiative forms part of Australia’s broader regional engagement under Invested: Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040. Through the strategy’s Investment Deal Teams, Australia is working closely with investors such as Plenary to identify and develop a pipeline of commercially viable investment opportunities across Southeast Asia, further strengthening economic ties and promoting sustainable regional prosperity.

Australia’s collaboration with Plenary reflects its role as a trusted partner in supporting Southeast Asia’s infrastructure ambitions. By combining public and private sector expertise with long-term investment, the partnership seeks to enhance regional connectivity, improve essential infrastructure, and contribute to inclusive economic growth for the years ahead.
