More than 400 guests gathered at the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore for a special exhibition and fashion show celebrating the beauty of traditional Thai costumes and Thailand’s ongoing efforts to preserve its cultural heritage through cultural diplomacy.
The Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore hosted the “Chud Thai” Mini-Exhibition and Fashion Show on Friday, 10 July 2026, celebrating the elegance and cultural significance of Thailand’s traditional attire while highlighting the country’s commitment to preserving and promoting its cultural heritage.
The event was officially opened by H.E. Mrs. Pannapa (Waraphannee) Damrongmanee, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, and formed part of Thailand’s broader efforts to showcase its rich cultural identity and strengthen its soft power through cultural diplomacy.
The exhibition featured officially recognised traditional Thai costumes alongside contemporary interpretations, offering visitors a glimpse into the artistry, craftsmanship and historical evolution of Thai textiles.
Through a series of fashion presentations, the Embassy demonstrated how traditional attire continues to inspire modern design while preserving centuries-old craftsmanship. The event also supported Thailand’s national initiative to promote “Chud Thai” (Traditional Thai Dresses) as an important element of the country’s intangible cultural heritage.
