The new Sentro Rizal Singapore Library at the Philippine Embassy offers a dedicated cultural space showcasing Philippine history, literature and the arts, further strengthening cultural ties between the Philippines and Singapore.
The Philippine Embassy in Singapore officially inaugurated the Sentro Rizal Singapore Library on 16 July 2026, with First Lady H.E. Louise Araneta-Marcos leading the ceremony at the new Philippine Chancery on 20 Nassim Road. The opening marks another milestone in the Embassy’s cultural diplomacy efforts and forms part of the celebration of 15 years of Sentro Rizal, the Philippines’ flagship institution for promoting Filipino culture overseas. The library is the newest addition to Sentro Rizal Singapore, which was relaunched earlier this year through the Pasinaya programme.
Located within the Embassy, the library features an extensive collection of books covering Philippine history, literature, culture, the arts, national identity, politics, and the longstanding bilateral relationship between the Philippines and Singapore. Carefully curated artworks and cultural artefacts further enrich the space, creating an inviting environment where visitors can discover and appreciate the country’s heritage.
During the inauguration, First Lady H.E. Louise Araneta-Marcos described the library as “more than a collection of books” and a bridge connecting Filipinos abroad with their homeland. She expressed hope that the Sentro Rizal Singapore Library would inspire pride in Filipino identity while serving as a welcoming place where Filipinos and friends of the Philippines can celebrate the nation’s history, culture and artistic achievements.
The Philippine Embassy has invited the Filipino community and the wider public to visit the Sentro Rizal Singapore Library, which is now open by appointment. Visitors can explore its diverse collection on Philippine history, literature, arts and culture, and may also participate in the Embassy’s “Tuloy po Kayo!” guided tour to experience its art collections and learn more about Philippine creativity and identity.
Looking ahead, the Embassy will commemorate the 10th anniversary of Sentro Rizal Singapore in 2027, marking a decade since the centre was first established on 15 September 2017. The anniversary is expected to highlight Sentro Rizal’s continued role in promoting Filipino culture, fostering people-to-people connections, and strengthening cultural exchanges between the Philippines and Singapore.
