The High Commission of India in Singapore launched the inaugural Women’s Knowledge and Awareness Series under its One Stop Centre Initiative.
The High Commission of India in Singapore launched the inaugural Women’s Knowledge and Awareness Series on 31 July 2026 under the One Stop Centre (OSC) Initiative. The programme brought together around 120 participants to provide practical knowledge on financial literacy, legal awareness, and mental health, reinforcing the High Commission’s ongoing efforts to support the welfare and empowerment of Indian women in Singapore.
The inaugural session was organised as part of the High Commission’s outreach initiatives through the One Stop Centre, which was established in December 2025 to provide integrated support for Indian women in Singapore. The event featured expert-led presentations on financial literacy, legal awareness, and mental health and psychological well-being, followed by a guided meditation session. Participants included members of the Indian community who attended the programme to gain practical information relevant to their daily lives and well-being in Singapore.
During the programme, the High Commission outlined the objectives of the Women’s Knowledge and Awareness Series, describing it as a platform to equip Indian women with practical knowledge and resources that promote resilience, self-reliance, and informed decision-making. Officials noted that future sessions would continue to address topics related to the welfare, safety, and empowerment of Indian women living in Singapore.
The High Commission also highlighted the work of the One Stop Centre since its establishment in December 2025. Over the past seven months, the Centre has facilitated access to legal guidance, counselling, psychological support, medical referrals, temporary shelter, and other welfare services through a coordinated network of professional service providers and community partners. It also continues to conduct outreach programmes aimed at strengthening awareness and providing timely support through its dedicated 24-hour helpline and email assistance.
Speaking at the launch, the High Commissioner Dr Shilpak Ambule stated “Indian High Commission remains committed to ensuring the welfare of Indian nationals in Singapore. We launched the One Stop Center to provide a dedicated support platform for Indian women in distress. Now, with this Knowledge Series, we are trying to raise awareness about important aspects like financial literacy, mental health and well-being.”
The High Commissioner further noted that the High Commission was working with stakeholders and partner organisations to develop tailored support programmes for Indian migrant workers. He added that the mission would continue expanding its outreach initiatives and community engagement efforts to ensure accessible support and relevant information for members of the Indian community in Singapore.
