Thailand and Singapore exchanged views on social and family development during a bilateral meeting in Singapore, with discussions focusing on support for families, children and vulnerable groups, as well as digital innovation in public services.
On 13 August 2026, H.E. Waraphannee Damrongmanee, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Singapore, welcomed Mrs. Siriluck Meemak, Social Development Technical Advisor, and a 16-member delegation from Thailand’s Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS). The delegation was in Singapore from 12–14 August to participate in bilateral meetings and a study visit on social and family development with Singapore’s Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) under the Thailand–Singapore Civil Service Exchange Programme (CSEP).

The visit provided an opportunity for officials from both countries to exchange perspectives on policies and approaches to social development. Discussions covered Singapore’s efforts to promote and support families and children, as well as measures to assist vulnerable groups and strengthen social protection.
Both sides also explored opportunities to further deepen Thailand–Singapore cooperation in social development. Among the areas discussed was the proposed conclusion of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which could provide a framework for closer institutional cooperation and the sharing of expertise between the two countries.

Digital technology was another key area of discussion, with both parties considering how digital solutions can be applied to improve the efficiency and accessibility of public services. The exchange highlighted the potential for both countries to share experiences and approaches in using technology to enhance the delivery of social services to communities.

The engagement under the CSEP underscored the longstanding cooperation between Thailand and Singapore and provided a platform for both sides to identify practical areas for future collaboration. Through continued exchanges and institutional cooperation, Thailand and Singapore can further strengthen their partnership in advancing social and family development.
