Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa Azín was on a State Visit to Singapore from 23 to 24 August 2026, where he met President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong.

President Noboa called on President Tharman, who hosted a State Banquet in his honour. The two Presidents reaffirmed the warm ties between Singapore and Ecuador and discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in areas such as agri-business and exchanges between the two peoples. They also exchanged views on shared challenges and growth opportunities.

President Noboa also met Prime Minister Wong to exchange views on regional and international developments and opportunities to strengthen cooperation in food security, digitalisation, and trade and investment.

Following the meeting, Prime Minister Wong and President Noboa witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Development Cooperation by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and Ecuador’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility Roberto Carlos Kury Pesantes.
