Forum examined investment opportunities and financing solutions for resilient and regenerative agriculture in ASEAN.
H.E. Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), delivered the opening remarks at the inaugural ASEAN Agrifood Investment and Partnership Forum on 30 October 2026 in Singapore. Held on the sidelines of the 48th ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry (AMAF) and Related Meetings, the Forum aimed to identify investment opportunities, financing solutions and partnerships to support food security and agricultural resilience in the region.
In his opening remarks, DSG Satvinder Singh emphasised the importance of translating ASEAN’s commitments to regenerative and resilient agriculture into concrete, investable and scalable initiatives. He highlighted the need to mobilise private-sector investment and develop effective risk-sharing mechanisms to support the implementation of regional agricultural priorities.

He also underscored the importance of partnerships involving governments, financial institutions, development partners and businesses. Such partnerships were identified as essential to facilitating investment and developing practical solutions for the transition towards more regenerative and resilient agricultural systems.
DSG Satvinder Singh further highlighted the need to ensure that smallholder farmers benefited from this transition. He stressed the importance of developing practical partnerships and innovative financing solutions to support the implementation of the ASEAN Regenerative and Resilient Agriculture Programme.
The Forum was convened by Singapore and the ASEAN Secretariat in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and interested partners. It provided a platform for discussions on financing approaches, investment opportunities and potential partnerships to advance agricultural development and improve food security in ASEAN Member States.

The discussions focused on the role of investment and cooperation in supporting the implementation of the ASEAN Regenerative and Resilient Agriculture Programme, with particular attention to mobilising resources and creating scalable initiatives that could benefit agricultural communities, including smallholder farmers.
The inaugural Forum was held alongside the 48th AMAF and Related Meetings, providing an opportunity to address investment and financing priorities in the agricultural sector in connection with ASEAN’s regional food security and resilience objectives.
