The Embassy of Venezuela in Singapore marked its 213th Independence Anniversary on July 7, 2024, with a colorful cultural celebration at Novotel @Stevens.

On Sunday, July 7, 2024, the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Singapore commemorated the 213th anniversary of their country’s independence with a vibrant cultural event. The celebration was led by Ambassador Jessica María López Piña and the Venezuelan diplomatic staff at Novotel @Stevens in Singapore.

The event attracted diverse attendees, including representatives from the diplomatic corps, prominent figures from Singapore’s cultural and business sectors, the resident Venezuelan community, and the general public. Guests enjoyed a program designed to highlight Venezuelan culture and heritage.

The celebration featured exquisite national cuisine and traditional drinks from American Latin Food and captivating performances by Venezuelan musicians Sergio Gutiérrez on the Cuatro and Martín Reyes with his band. The event, organized in collaboration with “La Fiesta” and House of Cane, offered an afternoon filled with music, food, and cultural activities that delighted both adults and children.

In addition to the festivities, the Embassy’s presentation focused on promoting national symbols and included an exhibition titled “Venezuela, Open to the Future.” This exhibition, “Venezuela, a Sound Universe,” showcased the indigenous culture and crafts of Venezuela’s ancestral peoples. Attendees also had the opportunity to engage with the traditions of the Dancing Devils of Yare, a practice recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
