
Dr. Kao Kim Hourn sends warm greetings to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, honouring Vietnam’s achievements and role in ASEAN as the country marks eight decades of nationhood.
On the occasion of Vietnam’s 80th National Day, Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn conveyed his warmest congratulations to H.E. Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The congratulatory message was sent on 2 September 2025 from the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta.
In his letter, Dr. Kao praised Vietnam’s remarkable achievements over the past eight decades, highlighting the nation’s resilience, visionary leadership, and progress. He commended Vietnam’s contributions to ASEAN community building and regional integration, noting the country’s meaningful initiatives in supporting subregional development and efforts to narrow the development gap among ASEAN Member States.
The Secretary-General also acknowledged Vietnam’s pivotal role in advancing the work of ASEAN across its three community pillars. He reaffirmed the ASEAN Secretariat’s commitment to supporting Vietnam and other Member States in implementing ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future, aimed at building a resilient, innovative, dynamic, and people-centred ASEAN Community.
Dr. Kao concluded his message by extending his best wishes to the government and people of Vietnam for a joyous National Day and continued prosperity in the years ahead. Chúc Mừng Ngày Quốc Khánh!
