THE VISIT UNDERSCORED GROWING COOPERATION BETWEEN SINGAPORE AND ARGENTINA, WITH DISCUSSIONS FOCUSED ON HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT AND TRADE TIES.

SINGAPORE, 6 January 2026 — Argentina’s Minister of Human Capital, Ms Sandra Pettovello, was welcomed to Singapore for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.

During her visit in Singapore, discussions were held on the importance of forward-looking and resilient policies in education, labour and housing to enable people to achieve their full potential. Both sides exchanged views and shared experiences, identifying opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation in human capital development and capacity-building.

The meeting also reaffirmed Argentina’s role as an important partner for Singapore, particularly in areas such as trade and food security. Singapore expressed its support for Argentina’s ratification of the MERCOSUR–Singapore Free Trade Agreement, which is expected to further enhance business links and trade flows between the two countries.

Minister Pettovello’s visit highlighted the positive momentum in Singapore–Argentina relations and the shared commitment to deepening cooperation across multiple sectors.
