The NESST Tukang Dormitory is the first dormitory developed under the Ministry of Manpower Singapore (MOM) to be built to enhanced standards, with a strong focus on improving liveability and promoting the well-being of migrant workers in Singapore.

During the visit, the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. toured various facilities within the dormitory to gain insights into its amenities and operational features. The visit underscored the Embassy’s interest in initiatives that directly impact the welfare of migrant workers.

Mrs. Chonlatee also engaged in discussions with Mr. Tony Chingnard, Managing Director of Bachy Soletanche, as well as Mr. Chiang Saengngoen, a representative of Thai workers currently residing at the dormitory. The exchanges provided perspectives from both management and workers on living conditions and workplace well-being.

The Royal Thai Embassy welcomed MOM’s initiatives to enhance the living conditions of migrant workers, recognising their vital contribution to Singapore’s development and economic growth, and reaffirmed its support for continued cooperation in safeguarding migrant workers’ welfare.
