Engagement highlights continued coordination to strengthen ASEAN Community-building and advance regional priorities
Secretary-General of ASEAN, Kao Kim Hourn, hosted a dinner for the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Indonesia to ASEAN, Ambassador M.I. Derry Aman, providing an opportunity for wide-ranging and substantive exchanges on key regional priorities.
The discussions reflected a shared commitment to advancing ASEAN Community-building efforts, strengthening institutional effectiveness, and addressing evolving regional and global challenges.
The engagement also underscored the importance of close coordination between the ASEAN Secretariat and the Permanent Representatives of ASEAN Member States to ASEAN in sustaining the organisation’s unity and central role in regional cooperation.
Both sides reaffirmed the importance of continued collaboration in supporting the effective implementation of ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future, which outlines the region’s long-term vision for a resilient, inclusive, and forward-looking ASEAN Community.
