The Indonesian Embassy in Singapore recognised the contribution of Komunitas Cinta Berkain Indonesia (KCBI) Singapore in promoting Indonesian cultural heritage through a special Kartini Day 2026 celebration featuring batik-themed activities.
Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore expressed appreciation for the active role played by Komunitas Cinta Berkain Indonesia Singapore in preserving and promoting Indonesian culture overseas.
As part of the Kartini Day 2026 celebrations, KCBI Singapore participated in a series of cultural programmes held at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore. The activities included a talkshow and a fashion show centred on batik parang, one of Indonesia’s most recognised traditional batik patterns.

The event highlighted the philosophy and cultural meaning behind Indonesia’s traditional textiles, also known as wastra Nusantara, while presenting them in a more modern and relatable context for today’s audiences.
The programme aimed to strengthen appreciation for Indonesian heritage among the Indonesian community and international audiences in Singapore, while continuing efforts to preserve traditional culture abroad.
Kartini Day is commemorated annually in Indonesia to honour the legacy of Raden Ajeng Kartini, a pioneer of women’s rights and education in Indonesia.
