
Bipartisan delegations from the United States Senate and House of Representatives visited Singapore to attend the 2026 Shangri-La Dialogue and reaffirm the strong Singapore-US partnership.
Singapore, May 31, 2026: A bipartisan United States Congressional delegation visited Singapore from May 29 to 31, 2026, to participate in the 2026 Shangri-La Dialogue and engage with Singapore leaders on bilateral, regional and global issues.
The United States Senate Congressional Delegation (CODEL) was jointly led by Senator Tammy Duckworth of Illinois and Senator Pete Ricketts of Nebraska. The United States House Congressional Delegation was led by Representative Patrick Harrigan of North Carolina and included Representative Gregory Meeks of New York and Representative Michael Baumgartner of Washington.
During their visit, the congressional delegations separately called on Singapore Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong and Coordinating Minister for Public Services and Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing.

Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs K Shanmugam and Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan also hosted the delegations for separate meals. Senator Tammy Duckworth additionally met Minister for Manpower and Minister-in-charge of Energy and Science & Technology Dr Tan See Leng.
The meetings provided an opportunity for both sides to reaffirm the strong and substantive partnership between Singapore and the United States. Discussions covered a wide range of regional and international developments, reflecting the close cooperation between the two countries on strategic, economic and security issues.
Both sides welcomed the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and the United States in 2026. They also expressed anticipation for the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-US Dialogue Relations in 2027, highlighting the enduring importance of US engagement with Southeast Asia.
