Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations Ms Grace Fu hailed the opening of Rainforest Wild Adventure East as a major milestone in Singapore’s tourism and conservation journey, marking the completion of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve.
Singapore, June 2026: Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations Grace Fu officially opened Rainforest Wild Adventure East, describing it as a significant achievement for Singapore’s tourism sector and a testament to the country’s commitment to balancing development with environmental conservation.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Grace Fu said the launch not only marks the debut of a new attraction but also completes the long-envisioned Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a project that began nearly two decades ago with the goal of creating a world-class wildlife and nature destination in Singapore.
She noted that the completed reserve now includes Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders, Bird Paradise, Rainforest Wild Adventure, Curiosity Cove and Exploria, along with public attractions such as the Mandai Boardwalk and arrival nodes at Mandai Wildlife East and West. Together, these attractions reinforce Singapore’s identity as a “City in Nature.”

Ms Grace Fu highlighted the international recognition received by the Mandai precinct. The reserve has been certified as a sustainable tourist destination by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, while Singapore Zoo was recognised by National Geographic as one of six zoos globally dedicated to conservation. Rainforest Wild Adventure West was also named one of TIME Magazine’s “World’s Greatest Places of 2026.”
The minister said Mandai Wildlife Reserve will play an important role in supporting Singapore’s Tourism 2040 ambitions by offering immersive experiences that appeal to both local and international visitors. She added that the destination would strengthen Singapore’s position as a leading global tourism hub.

Among the new highlights at Rainforest Wild Adventure East is the Canopy Glider, which offers visitors a scenic ride above the rainforest canopy. The park also features Southeast Asia’s first okapi habitat, introducing visitors to one of the world’s most elusive and endangered mammals native to the forests of Central Africa.
Ms Grace Fu emphasised that conservation remains at the heart of Mandai’s mission. She highlighted the opening of the Mandai Wildlife Centre, a dedicated animal hospital focused on the treatment and rehabilitation of rescued wildlife in Singapore. The facility underscores the reserve’s long-standing commitment to wildlife care and conservation.

She also noted Mandai Wildlife Group’s efforts to integrate sustainability throughout the precinct, including investments in electric bus charging infrastructure, measures to improve thermal comfort, and initiatives aimed at achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
