During her address, Ms Fu highlighted the importance of resilience in an increasingly complex global security environment. She noted that emerging threats, including misinformation campaigns, supply chain disruptions and hybrid warfare, affected not only the military but society as a whole. She emphasised that safeguarding Singapore required a whole-of-nation and multi-generational effort, with all Singaporeans playing a role in strengthening national resilience.
Addressing the newly commissioned officers, Ms Fu expressed confidence in their ability to uphold the responsibilities entrusted to them. She said they had joined a longstanding tradition of service and encouraged them to lead with courage, pursue excellence and remain prepared to defend Singapore and its people.
The 398 officers comprised 314 personnel from the Singapore Army, 34 from the Republic of Singapore Navy and 50 from the Republic of Singapore Air Force. Following their commissioning, they were expected to assume command, instructional and staff appointments across the SAF.
