Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will visit Jakarta on 6 July 2026 at the invitation of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto for the annual Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat.

The meeting will be the second Leaders’ Retreat between Prime Minister Wong and President Prabowo, following their inaugural retreat held in Singapore in 2025.

The Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat is the highest-level platform for leaders from both countries to review bilateral cooperation and discuss new areas of collaboration. During the meeting, the two leaders will receive updates on the implementation of initiatives announced at the previous retreat and exchange views on regional and international developments.

According to Singapore’s Prime Minister’s Office, discussions are expected to cover cooperation across sectors including the green economy, digital connectivity, artificial intelligence, cross-border electricity trade, and carbon capture and storage.

Prime Minister Wong will be accompanied by Singapore Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, along with officials from the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Singapore and Indonesia maintain close bilateral ties through cooperation in areas including trade, investment, connectivity, defence, and people-to-people exchanges. The annual Leaders’ Retreat serves as a regular platform for both governments to review ongoing initiatives and identify opportunities for future collaboration.

This year’s retreat is expected to continue discussions on existing initiatives while exploring new areas of cooperation, supporting the continued development of Singapore-Indonesia bilateral relations.
