More than 300 students from 15 countries gathered in Singapore from 22 to 27 June 2026 for the 7th Copernicus International Mathematics Olympiad, one of the region’s prominent international mathematics competitions for young learners. Mongolia emerged as one of the standout participants, securing one silver medal, three bronze medals and a special award, reflecting the country’s growing strength in mathematics education and academic excellence.

The award ceremony, held on 26 June 2026, was attended by Uyanga Ganbold, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Singapore. Addressing the participants, Ambassador Uyanga congratulated the students on their outstanding accomplishments and commended them for proudly representing Mongolia on the international stage while demonstrating the talent, knowledge and potential of Mongolian youth.

Among the medal winners, E. Erdenejargal, a Grade 4 student from Orchlon School, received the silver medal. Bronze medals were awarded to A. Chingunjav of School No. 1 in Dalanzadgad soum, Umnugovi Province, and O. Temuujin and B. Oyunomin, both Grade 10 students from School No. 1 in Kherlen soum, Khentii Province. B. Turbold, a Grade 6 student from Amjilt Cyber School, was also recognised with a special award for his performance during the competition.

The Mongolian delegation’s participation was coordinated by teachers Z. Dolgorsuren and D. Aldardelger from the “Az Bogd Aldar” NGO, whose guidance helped prepare the students for the international contest. Ambassador Uyanga also extended her appreciation to the teachers, coaches, parents and guardians whose unwavering dedication and support contributed to the students’ success.

Encouraging the young mathematicians to continue pursuing academic excellence, Ambassador Uyanga expressed her confidence that their achievements would inspire future generations of Mongolian students. She wished the participants continued success in future international competitions and encouraged them to make meaningful contributions to Mongolia’s development through their knowledge, skills and dedication.
