Congratulatory message from H.E. Mauricio Nine, Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Singapore, on the Occasion of Singapore’s 61st National Day
“On behalf of the Argentine Republic and its people, and on behalf of our Embassy in Singapore, it is my great pleasure to extend warm congratulations to the Government and people of Singapore on the joyous occasion of the 61st anniversary of its National Day.
Singapore’s remarkable journey from a small island nation to a global hub of trade, innovation, and multiculturalism continues to inspire admiration around the world. Argentina takes pride in the enduring friendship we share with Singapore, a relationship built on mutual respect, common interests and a shared commitment to progress.
Our two countries recently marked over 50 years of diplomatic relations, a milestone that reflects the depth and resilience of our ties. Bilateral trade and investment continue to grow, supported by agreements such as the MERCOSUR-Singapore Free Trade Agreement which will soon enter into force, and by the complementary nature of our economies, which opens the door to greater collaboration in areas such as agrifood, energy, knowledge based economy and technology. Beyond economic ties, our cultural exchange flourishes: the recent unveiling of works of art by Argentine artists, such as murals and sculptures that are now proudly integrated with the beautiful streets of Singapore, is a lasting symbol of our friendship. Tango dance and music and other Argentine cultural manifestations have further brought the passion and colour of Argentine culture into the everyday life of Singaporeans.
As we look to the future, I am confident that Argentina and Singapore will continue to deepen cooperation across trade, investment, technology, education and people-to-people ties, building on the strong foundation we have established together.
On this special day, I wish the Government and people of Singapore continued peace, prosperity, and success in the years ahead.
¡Viva la amistad entre Argentina y Singapur!”
